Beth Toben serves as an adjunct faculty member at Baylor Law School, Baylor University. With 36 years of experience as a prosecutor, she specializes in criminal law, particularly child and adult sexual abuse cases. She previously served as Assistant District Attorney in McLennan County for 22 years, where she was Deputy First Assistant DA, before joining the Limestone County Attorney's office in 2011.
Her research focuses on criminal justice reform, victims' rights advocacy, and prosecutor training methodologies. She integrates practical legal experience with pedagogical approaches to trial advocacy.
Ms. Toben has received significant recognition including the 2023 Texas Lone Star Prosecutor of the Year award. She has also been honored by the Texas Governor's Office, Texas State Senate, and multiple advocacy organizations for her work with abuse victims.
At Baylor Law, she teaches in the Academy of the Advocate program in Scotland and the Criminal Law Boot Camp program. As a Jaworski Fellow, she mentors students through the Baylor Criminal Law Society and supervises internships for those pursuing criminal law careers.
