معرفی
Beth Addison-Smith is a Researcher in the Allergy Research Group at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), affiliated with the School of Biomedical Sciences. Her work focuses on applied mathematics, numerical and computational mathematics, and environmental science, particularly in pollen aerobiology and biodiversity studies. She holds a PhD from QUT and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Queensland.
Her research explores the taxonomic diversity of airborne pollen, environmental DNA analysis, and the impact of climate on pollen distribution. She contributed to the AusPollen Partnership project, analyzing grass pollen seasonality and its implications for public health. Key areas include improving pollen monitoring standards, citizen science initiatives, and systematic reviews on pollen’s role in respiratory health.
Beth has collaborated on studies using metabarcoding and computational methods to assess pollen diversity across biogeographical regions. Her work emphasizes quality control in pollen identification and quantification, advancing methodologies in aerobiology and environmental science.
