Beth A. Ferri is a Professor in the Department of Teaching and Leadership at Syracuse University’s School of Education and serves as the Associate Dean for Research. Her scholarship bridges Disability Studies, Critical Race Theory, and Gender Studies, examining systemic inequities in education.
- Education: Ph.D. in Learning Disabilities & Women's Studies from the University of Georgia (1997).
Her research focuses on the intersectionality of race, gender, and disability, with significant contributions to the DisCrit framework. She has authored/co-authored over 60 publications and six books that challenge deficit-based educational paradigms.
Recent work analyzes spatial inequities in urban K-8 schools, neoliberal educational reforms, and metaphors of contagion in disability narratives. Key collaborations include scholars like David Connor and Subini Annamma.
