Bertil Hood (1917–1991) was a renowned Professor of Internal Medicine and Nephrology at Lund University, affiliated with Lund University Hospital and Malmö University Hospital (MAS). He pioneered hypertension research in Sweden, introducing medicinal treatments for high blood pressure in the 1950s and leading the Malmö Preventive Medicine project (1974–1992), a landmark study addressing cardiovascular risks and alcohol abuse.
