Bert Cregg

Dr. Bert Cregg is a Professor in the Department of Horticulture at Michigan State University (MSU), with a focus on tree physiology and management in urban, nursery, and Christmas tree systems. He holds a PhD in Forest Resources from the University of Georgia (1990), an MPA from the University of Nebraska (1995), and additional degrees in forestry and related fields.

His research spans slope restoration on urban freeways, Christmas tree genetics, and water/nutrient management in container-grown trees. Key projects include evaluating plant selections for roadside stabilization, optimizing Fraser fir production, and investigating recycled water use in nurseries.
