Berny Sèbe is a Senior Lecturer in Colonial and Post-Colonial Studies at the University of Birmingham's Department of Modern Languages, within the School of Languages, Cultures, Art History and Music. He holds a D.Phil. from the University of Oxford and a Maîtrise from the University of Aix-en-Provence. His research focuses on European imperial and post-colonial histories, particularly the cultural and political legacies of empire in Africa and Europe. He has authored influential works on colonial heroes in Britain and France, the Sahara's colonial history, and Franco-African relations.
