Yeandle's work examines themes such as the cultural legacies of imperial heroes, the role of performance in politics, and the intersection of empire and education. He co-edited the influential book *Decolonising Imperial Heroes* (2017), which explores how imperial figures were reimagined post-1945. His monograph *Citizenship, Nation, Empire* (2016) analyzes how history education shaped national identity in late-Victorian England.
He serves on the editorial boards of the *Journal of Victorian Culture* and *Nineteenth-Century Theatre and Film*. His recent research delves into Victorian performance cultures, including zoos, circuses, and museums. Yeandle’s scholarship bridges historical analysis with contemporary debates on decolonization, memory, and public engagement with the past.
Key awards include the Senior Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy. His current projects explore Victorian exhibition culture and the privatization of imperial hero narratives in former colonies.
Yeandle actively participates in academic networks, delivering lectures on heroes and imperialism globally. His work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, linking cultural studies, political history, and educational theory to inform both scholarly and public audiences.
