Bernice Law is a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing at Bournemouth University (joined Dec 2023). She holds clinical experience across Hong Kong (Emergency, Neurology, Surgery) and the UK (Aged Care, Oncology). Previously, she served as Senior Clinical Practice Educator at NHS University Hospital Southampton and Senior Lecturer at Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her PhD (2016, Hong Kong Polytechnic University) explored mentoring new nurses using narrative inquiry.
Education: PhD in Nursing (2016), Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees inferred from teaching roles. Teaching spans undergraduate/graduate nursing and gerontology programs globally. Research focuses on qualitative methodologies (narrative, appreciative inquiry), simulation-based education, and improving care quality for marginalized groups.
Awards include Fellow of Hong Kong Academy of Nursing (2022), Distinguished Educator in Gerontological Nursing (USA, 2020), and multiple Teaching Excellence Awards. She reviews for journals like Qualitative Health Research and International Journal of Nursing Studies.
Supervises nursing and gerontology students in final-year research and innovative projects. Active in promoting interprofessional collaboration and technology-enhanced learning to foster a 'speak-up' culture in healthcare settings.
