Bernice Redley is an Associate Professor at Deakin University's Centre for Nursing Research and Monash Health Partnership, with joint appointments at Monash Health and Deakin's Burwood Campus. She serves as Course Director for the Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) program and teaches in postgraduate nursing programs including Nurse Practitioner and Critical Care specialties.
Her research focuses on quality and safety in acute healthcare settings, particularly examining:
- Interprofessional teamwork and handover communication
- Care models for older patients
- Patient/family participation in care delivery
- Harm prevention strategies during hospitalization
She has received multiple grants including an NHMRC Translating Research Into Practice Fellowship (2019-2020) focused on nurse-led harm prevention strategies for older hospitalized patients.
