Bernd Balkenhol

Bernd Balkenhol is a Retired Professor at the University of Geneva's Geneva School of Economics and Management and a member of the Geneva Finance Research Institute. His career includes roles as Senior Policy Advisor at the International Labour Organization (ILO), where he directed the Social Finance Program from 1991. He contributed to the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion and coordinated the 2015 European Microfinance Research Conference. His research focuses on microfinance access, financial inclusion policies, and their socioeconomic impacts.
