Bernard V. Brady is a Professor of Theology at the University of St. Thomas, where he also serves as Director of the Murray Institute for Catholic Education and Associate Director of the Office of Mission. His scholarly work centers on moral theology with specialized focus on Catholic social teaching and its application to contemporary ethical issues.
His research examines theological foundations of justice, human dignity, and communal responsibility, exploring how Christian principles inform responses to social inequality and interreligious challenges. Key themes include the evolution of human dignity concepts, practices of Catholic intellectual tradition, and bridging theological insights with public discourse.
Brady has received multiple teaching and scholarship awards including the Catholic Press Association Book Award (2018), John Ireland Presidential Award (2013), and Distinguished Educator recognition (1995-96). His administrative leadership includes serving as Department Chair (2006-2018) and directing honors programs.
