Dr. Berna Kaya Uğur is an Associate Professor at Gaziantep University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Surgical Medicine, specializing in Anesthesiology and Reanimation. With a medical degree from Atatürk University (1995-2001) and medical specialization in Anesthesiology from Gaziantep University (2005-2010), she has built a distinguished career in academic medicine and clinical practice. She progressed from Doctor Lecturer (2014-2022) to her current position as Associate Professor (2022-present).
Her educational background includes a Türkiye Licence from Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine (1995-2001) followed by Medical Specialization in Anesthesiology at Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine (2005-2010). Prior to her academic career, she completed mandatory service at various health institutions including Erzurum Numune Hospital (2004-2005) and Ilıca Central Health Clinic (2002-2004), and worked as an Anesthesiology Specialist at Gaziantep Children's Hospital (2010-2014).
Dr. Kaya Uğur's research spans critical areas of anesthesiology, with particular emphasis on oxidative stress mechanisms in anesthesia, sepsis management, neurosurgical anesthesia, and pain management. Her work demonstrates a strong clinical focus with practical applications in intensive care settings. She has published extensively on topics ranging from anesthetic management in specialized surgical procedures to complications and innovations in anesthetic techniques.
