Ayşe Mizrak

Ayşe Mizrak is a Professor at Gaziantep University's Faculty of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation. She has been serving as a Professor since 2017 and currently holds the position of Department Head (2024-2027). Her academic career spans over two decades with significant contributions to the field of anesthesiology.

Dr. Mizrak completed her medical education at Ege University Faculty of Medicine (1987-1993) followed by specialization in Anesthesiology and Reanimation at Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine (1999-2005).

Her research primarily focuses on anesthesiology and pain management, with special emphasis on regional anesthesia techniques, perioperative care, and the effects of various anesthetic agents. Dr. Mizrak has made significant contributions to understanding optimal pain management protocols for thoracic surgeries, the application of ultrasound-guided nerve blocks, and the physiological effects of anesthetic medications on hemodynamic stability. Her work has helped advance clinical practices in airway management, particularly for challenging cases involving pediatric and geriatric patients.

An analysis of her recent publications reveals a strong focus on innovative pain management techniques, particularly the use of erector spinae plane blocks, dexmedetomidine combinations, and multimodal analgesia approaches. Her research spans both clinical applications and physiological mechanisms, with studies examining hemodynamic responses during intubation, the impact of environmental factors on anesthetic requirements, and specialized techniques for various surgical procedures.

Dr. Mizrak has successfully supervised 21 specialization theses and currently mentors several ongoing research projects. Her academic leadership extends to her role on the University's Quality Committee and as a jury member for specialization exams. She has taught numerous courses at all academic levels, from undergraduate to doctoral studies, with a particular focus on neuraxial blocks and central nerve blocks.
