Berber Laarman is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, specializing in Liability Law, A-LAB, and Law, Markets and Behavior. Their work focuses on legal procedures post-incidents in healthcare, emphasizing transparency and accountability. They hold a PhD in Law (2022) and an LLM in Law and BA in European Studies from VU Amsterdam.
Research interests include healthcare liability, patient rights, and dispute resolution mechanisms. They co-founded the OPEN Leernetwerk to improve transparency in healthcare incident handling. Teaching responsibilities include courses on Liability Law and Health Law. Recent publications explore responsive legal frameworks in healthcare and incident management.
