معرفی
Dr. Benjamin Teo serves as a UKRI Postdoctoral Research Fellow within the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London's Faculty of Engineering. He is an active member of the Clean Energy Processes (CEP) Laboratory, focusing on innovative clean energy solutions for industrial and domestic applications.
His academic foundation includes a B.Eng. degree (2014) and Ph.D. (2019), both earned at Nanyang Technological University's School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. His doctoral research centered on metal-organic frameworks and zeolite applications for cooling technologies.
Dr. Teo's research spans adsorption technology, polymer science, and solar energy systems. His work integrates experimental material characterization with multi-scale computational modeling to address energy challenges. Early research focused on metal-organic frameworks for water adsorption cooling systems, followed by polymer crystallization studies in additive manufacturing, and currently centers on solar photovoltaic efficiency improvements. His methodology consistently bridges fundamental material properties with practical engineering applications.
Analysis of his publication record reveals a clear evolution from adsorption-based cooling systems (2017-2018) toward polymer additive manufacturing (2021-2023), culminating in current solar photovoltaic research. This trajectory demonstrates increasing focus on scalable clean energy solutions while maintaining strong computational modeling expertise across all domains.
His significant scientific recognitions include:
- Nanyang Presidential Graduate Scholarship (2014)
- UKRI Postdoctoral Fellowship
Dr. Teo's UKRI Fellowship funds his current solar photovoltaic research at Imperial, where he contributes to the CEP Laboratory's mission through experimental work and multi-physics modeling. His prior NTU position involved collaborative projects with the HP-NTU Digital Manufacturing Corporate Lab, developing simulation frameworks for polymer additive manufacturing processes.
He operates within Imperial's Clean Energy Processes (CEP) Laboratory, a multidisciplinary research environment dedicated to advancing sustainable energy technologies through materials innovation and process optimization. The lab facilitates collaborations across chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, and materials science disciplines to address global energy challenges.
