Benjamin T. Boyle is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of Maryland College Park. His research focuses on organic synthesis, reaction methodology development, and organometallic chemistry with applications in medicinal chemistry. Boyle leads the Boyle Lab, which emphasizes mechanism-driven approach to unlock novel reactivity using transition metal catalysis and underexplored intermediates.
Education: Ph.D. in Chemistry from Colorado State University (2021, advisor Prof. Andrew McNally); Postdoctoral Research at Princeton University (2021-2024, advisor Prof. David MacMillan). Prior to academia, he worked at Seattle Genetics developing process chemistry for antibody-drug conjugates.
Research Themes: Mechanism investigation of reactive intermediates, development of selective C-H functionalization methods, and catalyst design for sustainable synthetic pathways. The lab integrates transition metal catalysis with organometallic reactivity to create efficient synthetic strategies for bioactive molecules.
