Dr. Benjamin Redding is a Senior Research Associate in Maritime History at the University of East Anglia's School of History and Art History. He holds a PhD from the University of Warwick and currently serves as a senior researcher on the Gloucester Project (2021-25), funded by the Leverhulme Trust. Redding co-supervises PhD students Jared Butler and Aidan Quigley, and his research bridges naval history, early modern studies, and maritime culture.

Redding co-curated the landmark exhibition 'The Last Voyage of the Gloucester: Norfolk’s Royal Shipwreck, 1682' and collaborates with the British Commission for Maritime History and Navy Records Society. He has published extensively on warship design, state-building, and maritime enterprise during the early modern period.
