Benjamin Lefebvre is an Instructor in the Department of English and Film Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada. He specializes in Canadian literature, children’s literature, and digital humanities. His work focuses on recovering and reinterpreting early Canadian texts through editorial projects like the Early Canadian Literature series. Lefebvre holds an MA from the University of Guelph, a PhD from McMaster University, and a graduate certificate in publishing from Toronto Metropolitan University.
His research interests include L.M. Montgomery’s legacy, scholarly editing, and the cultural impact of Canadian literature. Key achievements include editing The Blythes Are Quoted and co-editing the award-winning The L.M. Montgomery Reader. He is also the curator of L.M. Montgomery Online, a web resource for Montgomery’s global readership.
Publications span novels, edited volumes, and critical essays. His novel In the Key of Dale (2022) explores queer narratives, while his edited books restore marginalized voices to Canadian literary history. Awards include the 2016 PROSE Award for Literature.
Lefebvre’s academic contributions extend to teaching, digital archiving, and public engagement through blogs and media interviews. Current projects include non-fiction books on Montgomery’s writing life and screen adaptations of her work.
