Benjamin L. White is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at Clemson University’s College of Arts and Humanities. His scholarship focuses on ancient and modern interpretations of the New Testament, the reconstruction of Christian origins, and the intersection of memory, historiography, and ideology in early Christian traditions, particularly concerning Pauline studies.
Recent Publications:
- Counting Paul: Scientificity, Fuzzy Math, and Ideology in Pauline Studies (2025) explores stylometry’s role in resolving Pauline authorship debates.
- Remembering Paul: Ancient and Modern Contests over the Image of the Apostle (2014) examines the Apostle Paul as an object of knowledge for interpreters.
Dr. White co-chairs the Historical Paul section of the Society of Biblical Literature and serves on the editorial board of The Journal of Theological Studies. His work appears in journals such as Journal for the Study of the New Testament and Catholic Biblical Quarterly. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and maintains an ORCiD (0009-0001-8319-4482) for academic visibility.
