Dr Benjamin Dalton is a Lecturer in French Studies at Lancaster University's School of Global Affairs. His research bridges French Studies and Medical/Health Humanities, focusing on how contemporary philosophy engages with biomedical science to reimagine healthcare spaces. He leads the MA in Global Medical and Health Humanities and founded the Queer Medical Humanities Network. Notable projects include 'Transforming the Hospital with Contemporary French Philosophy,' analyzing thinkers like Catherine Malabou and Paul B. Preciado to propose inclusive clinical environments for marginalized groups. His work often intersects with queer theory, neuroplasticity, and interdisciplinary cultural studies.
Education: PhD in French from King’s College London (2020). Recent publications explore Catherine Malabou’s philosophy of plasticity, queer healthcare architectures, and film-philosophy. He co-edited special issues on Robin Campilo’s 120 BPM and Malabou’s impact on film. Awards include a Dean’s Early Career Teaching commendation.
