Dr. Benedek Nagy is an Associate Professor at the Department of Theoretical Economics, University of Szeged. Currently serving as Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration since August 2024, he previously held roles as Deputy Dean and Deputy Head of the Institute of Economics and Economic Development. His academic journey includes a Habilitation in Economics (2022), PhD (2013), and MSc (2002), all from the University of Szeged.
Research focuses on reindustrialization patterns in post-socialist EU countries and the economics of intellectual property rights, particularly patents. He has supervised 1 doctoral student (50%) and contributed to projects like the EFOP-3.6.2-16-2017 study on smart, sustainable societies. His teaching spans bachelor, master, and PhD levels in economics disciplines.
Awarded advanced English (C1) and intermediate German (B2) proficiency. Active in research projects addressing pharmaceutical industry restructuring, economic impacts of Budapest Airport, and innovation certification frameworks.
