Ben Wilson is an Associate Professor at the Stockholm University Demography Unit (SUDA) and a visiting senior fellow at the London School of Economics. His research focuses on demography, migration studies, sociology, epidemiology, political science, and research methods. He leads projects funded by the ERC and others, examining refugee integration, intergenerational adaptation, and immigrant integration in Sweden. His recent work explores family formation, health inequalities, and the impact of childhood on life trajectories.
Wilson’s teaching covers demography, population studies, and social science methods. He is affiliated with SUDA and collaborates internationally on migration trajectories and segregation research. His work emphasizes data-driven approaches using administrative registers and cross-country comparisons.
Key research interests include the socio-economic background’s impact on mortality, fertility patterns of immigrant populations, and policy implications of migration. He has published extensively on topics such as immigrant fertility adaptation, intergenerational inequality, and the legacy of forced migration.
