Dr Ben Weedon is a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant in the School of Sport, Nutrition and Allied Health Professions at Oxford Brookes University. His research focuses on paediatric movement disorders, cardiovascular/respiratory dysfunction, and population health. He teaches on BSc and MSc Physiotherapy courses and supervises student dissertations. He holds degrees: BSc Sport Science, MSc Physiotherapy, and a PhD.
Key research interests include neuroimaging applications in motor learning (using fNIRS), developmental coordination disorder interventions, and the interplay between motor competence, physical activity, and health biomarkers. His work spans clinical paediatrics, neurorehabilitation, and public health policy.
Recent publications (2018-2024) emphasize adolescent fitness trends, dual-task gait analysis, and neuroergonomic assessment of assistive devices. He is affiliated with the Centre for Movement, Occupational and Rehabilitation Sciences (MOReS) and contributes to interdisciplinary groups like Movement Sciences and Rehabilitation Sciences.
Professional memberships include the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, Health and Care Professions Council, and the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists.
