Ben Wardle is a Lecturer at the University of Gloucestershire, teaching music business areas including artist development, law, copyright, management, and PR. He also explores economic and sociological backgrounds of popular music in theory modules, emphasizing communication skills for students.

His research focuses on the shifting narratives of popular music from business and fan perspectives. He presented the paper File Under Popular at the Mainstream Silence conference (University of Strasbourg, 2022) and is currently working on a book expanding this topic.
Ben is also an A&R manager, music writer, and presenter with over 30 years in the industry. He authored books like A Perfect Silence (2022) on Talk Talk’s Mark Hollis and served as a personal tutor for first- and second-year undergraduates.
