Ben Tiseo

Ben Tiseo serves as Adjunct Professor in Architecture at Lawrence Technological University since 1980 while maintaining an active architectural practice as President of Tiseo Architects, Inc. A licensed architect in 11 states and NCARB Certificate Holder, he has shaped building regulations through decades of service on code committees and professional organizations including the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and International Code Council.

His educational foundation includes a B.S. in Architecture from Lawrence Technological University (1978), following military service and construction industry experience. Tiseo's professional development reflects through progressive leadership roles: from founding Tiseo Associates (1980) to leading Redstone Tiseo Architects (1996-1998) before establishing his current firm.

Specializing in technical architecture domains, Tiseo's expertise centers on construction methodologies and building code compliance. His work bridges academic instruction with practical code development, evidenced by 38+ years on the International Code Council and Michigan Building Code Review Committee (1996-2006). This focus emerged from early career experiences in construction and military service.

Tiseo's significant contributions have earned distinguished recognition:

Current advocacy work focuses on government affairs through the AIA Government Advocacy Committee.
