Ben Miranda is a Visiting Professor and St Andrew’s Anglia Ruskin (StAAR) Research Group Lead at the School of Medicine, Faculty of Health, Medicine and Social Care, Anglia Ruskin University. He is also a Consultant Plastic and Hand Surgeon at St Andrew’s Centre for Plastic Surgery & Burns, Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford. His expertise spans Plastic Surgery, Hand Surgery, Medical Education, Medical Law, and Research.

His academic roles include teaching at ARU, tutoring for the BSSH British Hand Diploma (University of Manchester), and peer-reviewed publication activity. He serves as a reviewer for The Journal of Hand Surgery and has supervised undergraduates and postgraduate surgical trainees.
Professor Miranda completed Plastic Surgery specialty training in London, holds a PhD, and has over 110 peer-reviewed publications. His clinical practice is based at St Andrew’s Centre, a leading European specialist burn and reconstruction center. He maintains dual qualifications in Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery, with formal training from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Pulvertaft Hand Centre, The London Clinic, and Wellington Hospital.
