Ben Kasstan-Dabush

Dr. Ben Kasstan-Dabush is a Lecturer in Global Health Policy at the University of Edinburgh and holds a joint appointment as Assistant Professor in Global Health & Development at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. His research bridges medical anthropology, critical public health, and vaccine social science to examine health protection frameworks, particularly in vaccination, disease outbreaks, and sexual/reproductive health, with a focus on equity and marginalized communities.

• Trained in medical anthropology, he contributes to interdisciplinary research on public health policy and social movements.
• Collaborates with UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and CDC on transnational poliovirus vaccine responses.
• Acted as expert witness for the UK Covid-19 Inquiry (Module 4) on vaccine delivery systems and coverage disparities.
• Advises PhD students on topics like immunization decisions among migrant mothers, medicalization of tongue-tie, and nationalism in biotech.
