Ben Hay

Dr Ben Hay is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Nursing & Midwifery, University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle Campus, where he has been a faculty member since 2011. He holds a PhD in Nursing, a Master of Nursing, and multiple graduate certificates in Critical Care and University Teaching. His academic and clinical background spans over two decades in critical care nursing and nursing education.

Ben’s research and teaching focus on mobile technology in healthcare, social media in health care, and critical care nursing. He has pioneered the integration of digital tools into nursing curricula and explores how students transfer technology-based learning into clinical practice. His work emphasizes student engagement, innovation in pedagogy, and clinical reasoning.

His recent publications and conference presentations highlight a strong trend in educational technology, digital literacy, and curriculum development in nursing. Themes include mobile learning, social media use in clinical education, and technology adoption gaps between academic and practice settings.
