Ben Davis Barnes is a Lecturer and Agouron Geobiology Postdoctoral Fellow at Dartmouth College in the Department of Earth Sciences. His research explores how carbonate sediments provide insights into Earth's long-term climate evolution, life history, and seawater chemistry.
- Education
- BS, Tufts University
- MS, University of Wisconsin-Madison
- PhD, Pennsylvania State University
His work bridges ancient carbonate systems with modern understanding through field studies of biotic/abiotic pathways, numerical modeling, and laboratory experiments. As an Agouron Fellow, he focuses on unconventional carbonate formations absent in contemporary marine settings.
