Ben D'Exelle is Professor of Economics at the University of East Anglia's School of Global Development, where he researches applied behavioral and experimental economics with a focus on low-income countries. He joined UEA in 2010 and co-directs the MSc Impact Evaluation for Global Development program. His fieldwork spans Nicaragua, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Research examines social networks, rural markets, reproductive health, microfinance impacts, and agricultural investment decisions. Current projects include behavioral analysis of reproductive health in Burkina Faso/Tanzania and agricultural investment in Uganda.
Teaching covers microeconomics, econometrics, and impact evaluation methods. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to poverty reduction and health equity.
