Ben Brachle

Dr. Ben Brachle is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Industrial Distribution program in the Department of Industrial Technology at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK). He also holds the UNK Industrial Distribution Program Partner Professorship and coordinates the Industrial Distribution Program. His work bridges academic leadership and industry-focused education.

His research centers on leadership and pedagogy, with specific focus on:

• Motivation, Generational Cohort Theory, and Lifespan Development
• Leadership Pedagogy
• Experiential Learning, Participant Reactivity, and Learning Environments

His areas of expertise include Industrial Distribution, Leadership, Organizational Behavior, and Pedagogy. Dr. Brachle's academic journey reflects a strong commitment to both industry application and educational innovation.

Dr. Brachle earned his Ph.D. in Human Science from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, an M.B.A. in Supply Chain Management from Bellevue University, a Transition to Teaching Certification, and a B.S. in Industrial Distribution, both from UNK.

He began his career as a Territory Manager at Black and Decker before transitioning to education, where he played a key role in launching two of the nation’s first dual-enrolled secondary programs in distribution and logistics. He has consulted for government, for-profit, and academic organizations throughout his career.

Outside of academia, Dr. Brachle is an accomplished violinist, having played in orchestras, weddings, and a country western band. He also plays piano, guitar, trumpet, bugle, and mandolin, and aims to learn the bagpipes.
