Ben Boivin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nanoscale Science & Engineering at the University at Albany's College of Nanotechnology, Science, and Engineering. He directs the Redox Biology and Signal Transduction Laboratory and is affiliated with The RNA Institute.

Research focuses on redox biology and signal transduction mechanisms, particularly protein tyrosine phosphatases in cancer and cardiovascular pathologies. Investigations span molecular mechanisms of enzyme regulation, oxidative stress responses, and therapeutic targeting of signaling pathways in disease states.
Recent publications demonstrate consistent focus on redox-regulated signaling networks in oncology and cardiology, with evolving emphasis on therapeutic applications and nanobiotechnology interfaces. Article themes include enzyme kinetics, disease mechanisms, and novel therapeutic strategies.
