Belinda Judd

Dr Belinda Judd is a Senior Lecturer in Work Integrated Learning at the University of Sydney's Faculty of Medicine and Health. She holds a PhD in simulation-based education and has over 15 years of experience in health professions education. Her research focuses on simulation-based learning, clinical assessment tool development, and interprofessional education. She is registered with AHPRA as a Physiotherapist and actively involved in organizations like the Australian Society for Simulation in Healthcare (ASSH).

Dr Judd's educational background includes a PhD, M.Ed in Health Professional Education, BAppSc in Physiotherapy, and a Graduate Certificate in Health Science Education. She has led multiple research grants including the 2020 Health Education England grant for simulation-based placement expansion and a 2019 grant on feedback mechanisms in clinical simulations.

Her research investigates stress responses in clinical simulations, interprofessional team training, and the application of resilience-building strategies in healthcare education. Key contributions include validating assessment tools for physiotherapy practice and pioneering interdisciplinary online simulation programs. Current work explores the impact of PPE on healthcare workers' cognitive/emotional states and the design of immersive simulation environments.

Dr Judd collaborates with institutions like the University of Southampton on placement preparation initiatives. She has published extensively on clinical readiness assessment, simulation efficacy, and grit/resilience in health students. Her work aims to bridge educational theory with practical clinical skills development.
