Fiona Barrett is a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy at the University of Northampton, within the Faculty of Health, Education and Society. She joined the university in 2024, bringing over a decade of clinical experience from the NHS, particularly in respiratory care and critical care rehabilitation.
Education:
- First Class BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy, University of Nottingham (2014)
Research & Teaching Interests:
Fiona’s academic and clinical focus centers on respiratory physiotherapy, with a particular emphasis on critical care rehabilitation and leadership in healthcare settings. She is actively involved in clinical education and has developed simulation training programs for practicing physiotherapists. Her teaching responsibilities include modules on Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy and Developing Professionalism and Collaborative Practice.
Fiona is passionate about fostering interprofessional collaboration and enhancing both student and practitioner development through clinical placements and continuing education initiatives.
