Professor Belinda Flanagan serves as Dean of the Rozelle Precinct and Head of School for Paramedicine at the University of Tasmania's College of Health and Medicine. Previously, she held academic roles at the University of the Sunshine Coast and Queensland Ambulance Service. Her expertise spans clinical practice in nursing, midwifery, and paramedicine, alongside extensive humanitarian work in low-income regions like Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste. She holds a PhD in Paramedicine (2018), Master's in Public Health (2021), and certifications as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Research interests include qualitative methodologies (Narrative Inquiry, Grounded Theory), patient experience in emergency care, immunization strategies in developing countries, and clinical decision-making. She has contributed to over 50 peer-reviewed articles, focusing on paramedic education, obstetric emergencies, and healthcare system optimization. Belinda chairs key committees such as the College of Health and Medicine Leadership Team and Crisis Management Group, while advocating for UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health equity (Goal 3) and quality education (Goal 4).
