Belinda Davis is a Senior Lecturer at the Macquarie School of Education, Macquarie University, specializing in early childhood education. Her research focuses on pedagogy, curriculum design, and how children’s experiences shape learning, particularly for infants, toddlers, and low socio-economic groups. She is affiliated with The Centre for Research in Early Childhood Education (CRECE) and the Lifespan Health and Wellbeing Research Centre.
Her teaching spans postgraduate and undergraduate early childhood programs. Key research projects include the ORICL initiative (Observing, Reflecting, Improving Children’s Learning) and collaborations with institutions like the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia. She has received the OMEP New Scholar Award for her work on refugee representation in children’s literature.
Recent publications address quality assessment in childcare systems, multimodal literacy, and policy impacts on preschool attendance. Davis actively supervises Higher Degree Research students and contributes to professional development initiatives for educators.
