Becca Baaske is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Accounting Department of the John Sykes College of Business at the University of Tampa, where she joined the faculty in Fall 2021. Her office is located in JS-318B at 401 W. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, FL.
Her educational background includes a B.S. from North Central College (2012), an MAcc from DePaul University (2014), and a Ph.D. from the University of South Florida (2021).
Dr. Baaske's research focuses on auditor judgment and decision-making, particularly using data visualizations to detect risks and anomalies through experimental and survey methodologies. She actively advances accounting education pedagogy to engage business students in introductory courses and encourage accounting majors. Her work has been published in the Journal of Information Systems and Accounting Horizons, with manuscripts under revision at Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory and Issues in Accounting Education.
She co-founded the "More than Debits and Credits" networking event and "Road to the Real World: Accounting Bootcamp" to address the national accounting pipeline decline. Additional roles include College of Business Media Committee membership and ad-hoc reviewing for the Journal of Information Systems, AAA Annual Meeting, and AIS Midyear Meeting.
