Ann H Williams is a Professor in the Biology Department at the University of Tampa, where she serves as Coordinator of Health-Related Internships. She holds a B.S. from Penn State University (1994) and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland (2001).

Williams specializes in molecular biology and microbiology research, focusing on signal transduction pathways in normal and cancerous cells, as well as environmental bacterial communities. She also contributes to biology pedagogy, publishing best practices for teaching microbiology and biology to diverse student populations.
Her teaching portfolio includes Microbiology for Biology and Allied Health Majors, Immunology, Biological Unity (lecture and lab), Biology for Non-Majors, and Senior Seminar. She actively mentors undergraduate students through research programs, resulting in peer-reviewed publications in journals like PNAS and Journal of Microbiology & Biology Education (JMBE).
Williams engages in professional activities with the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), advises pre-health professional students, and participates in microbiology outreach initiatives. Her research has been presented at scientific and education conferences nationwide.
