Christine Gimbar is an Associate Professor and RSM Endowed Faculty Fellow in the School of Accountancy & MIS at DePaul University's Driehaus College of Business. She holds a PhD in Accounting & Information Systems from Virginia Tech (2015), an MAcc from Virginia Tech, and a BS in Accounting from the University of Scranton. Prior to academia, she served as an audit manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York City and McLean, VA, specializing in entertainment, media, and hospitality sectors for large public clients.
Her research centers on audit quality with specific focus on auditor-client dynamics, fraud detection mechanisms, and review process efficacy. This work appears in premier journals including The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Behavioral Research in Accounting, and Current Issues in Auditing. She teaches core courses in auditing and financial accounting, integrating her industry experience into pedagogy.
