Mary Mindak serves as Associate Professor and Director of the Strobel Honors Program within DePaul University's School of Accountancy & MIS. She holds a PhD in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati (2009), an MAcc and BS in Accountancy from Miami University, and maintains an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license since 2006.
Her research spans critical areas of modern accounting practice including audit risk assessment, corporate bankruptcy implications, corporate environmental responsibility reporting, and fraud/forensic accounting methodologies. A significant portion of her scholarly work focuses on developing practical case studies for auditing and forensic accounting education, directly bridging academic theory with professional practice.
Mindak received the prestigious RSM Fellowship in 2020 and assumed directorship of DePaul's Strobel Accounting Honors Program in 2021. Her teaching portfolio includes undergraduate courses in Financial Reporting I and Auditing II, alongside graduate-level Financial Accounting Theory & Practice sequences.

With prior industry experience at Ernst & Young LLP as an auditor and Western & Southern Life Insurance Company as a strategic GAAP analyst, Mindak brings substantial real-world perspective to her academic roles. She actively contributes to accounting education through publications in leading journals and co-authored case study materials.
