Bea Maas is a Professor in the Department of Botany and Biodiversity Research at the Faculty of Life Sciences. Her research focuses on agroforestry systems, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable land use, particularly in tropical and Mediterranean contexts. She leads major projects like ECO-OLIVES (European olive agroforestry) and ECO-CACAO (Peruvian cacao agroforestry), aiming to balance ecological and agricultural objectives. She is an Editor for Basic and Applied Ecology and actively contributes to academic talks and peer-review activities.
