Basile Tarchini is an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Biomedical Science and Engineering, affiliated with The Jackson Laboratory. His research focuses on the molecular and developmental mechanisms of sensory hair cells in the inner ear, particularly stereocilia morphogenesis and its implications for hearing and balance.
Education:
- PhD, University of Geneva, Switzerland (2004)
His work bridges developmental biology and molecular genetics, using mouse models to investigate transcriptional regulation, cytoskeleton polarization, and hereditary hearing loss. Recent publications highlight roles of G proteins, kinases, and synapse maturation in hair cell function.
