Dr. Baruch Whitehead is an Associate Professor of Music Education at Ithaca College and founding director of the Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers, dedicated to preserving Negro Spirituals. He also initiated the Orff-Schulwerk certification program and led the annual Orff Certification Training Course at Boston University.

- Doctorate from Capella University, M.F.A. from University of Florida, and B.A./B.M.E. from University of Cincinnati
Research focuses on music's role in social justice and cultural preservation. His 'Peace Cantata' premiered at Ithaca College's MLK Celebration, and he has led international workshops in Finland, Spain, and Brazil. Organizes annual West African drumming/dance study trips to Ghana with students.
