Dr. Bart Rocco is an Assistant Professor of Practice and Executive Director of the Tri-State Area School Study Council at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Education. With over 40 years in public education, he held roles such as superintendent of the Elizabeth Forward School District until 2018. He now serves as a Fellow with the Grable Foundation, supporting 34 Western Pennsylvania school districts in adopting AASA’s Learning 2025 Framework and grant implementation.
Education: B.A. and M.Ed. from Duquesne University; Ed.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
Research/Professional Focus: Transforming educational systems through student-centered, equity-focused approaches; grant development; leadership training. Awards include the 2018 Distinguished Pre-K-12 Educator Award and 2015 Distinguished Educator Award.
Advising/Grants: Works with districts on grant strategies and systemic reforms. Lab/Team affiliations include the Tri-State Area School Study Council.
