Dr. Bart Jansen is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy of Law and Ethics at Nyenrode Business University (Netherlands) and affiliated with New York University's Philosophy Department since 2023. He concurrently serves as an adjunct professor of philosophy of law at Airlangga University (Indonesia) and teaches Jurisprudence at the University of Amsterdam. His research focuses on philosophy of law, ethics, and interdisciplinary topics like sustainability in global supply chains and legal semiotics.

Key research interests include juridification of business ethics, rights of nature, digital law, and comparative legal systems (Indonesian-Dutch law). He defended his doctoral thesis (2022) arguing that juridification hinders authentic business ethics.
Publications include a 2023 monograph on business ethics juridification and peer-reviewed articles on legal semiotics, digitization, and environmental philosophy.
Teaching focuses on law and human behavior at the University of Amsterdam, alongside his primary roles at Nyenrode and NYU.
