Bart Breederveld is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Law of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, affiliated with the Department of Family Law and the Law of Persons, A-LAB, and the Amsterdam Centre for Family Law. He holds editorial roles, including as a Member of the editorial board for Tijdschrift voor familie- en jeugdrecht (2013). His research focuses on family law, marital property, divorce procedures, and comparative legal systems. He teaches courses such as Faillissementsrecht (Bankruptcy Law), Goederenrecht (Property Law), and Verdieping familierecht: scheiding en gevolgen (Advanced Family Law: Divorce and Consequences).
He has authored or co-authored 43 research outputs, including articles on pandemic-related family law challenges, marital property frameworks, and comparative analyses of U.S. and Dutch systems. His professional practice includes being a Partner at Rensen advocaten since 1983.
