Barry Robinson serves as the Robert Haywood Morrison Professor of History, Chair of the History Department, and Director of the Undergraduate Data Analytics Program at Queens University of Charlotte within the College of Arts & Sciences.
Education:

- B.A. in History and Spanish, University of North Carolina, Charlotte
His research spans historical geography, digital humanities, colonialism, nationalism, ethnohistory, Latin America, the Age of Revolutions, and the transatlantic slave trade, with notable works including The Mark of Rebels: Indios Fronterizos and Mexican Independence and co-edited volume Slaves, Subjects, and Subversives: Blacks in Colonial Latin America. He pioneers GIS applications in historical analysis and public history documentation.

Dr. Robinson secured North Carolina Humanities Council funding for collaborative projects with the Cultural Division of the Catawba Indian Nation, Aberystwyth University, and the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor Commission. His experiential teaching methodology engages students in role-playing simulations, archival research, and mapping initiatives.
He leads student teams in developing digital public history resources, including an interactive map of the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor featuring 200+ cultural sites with narrative and visual documentation.
