Cassie S. Turnipseed

Dr. Cassie S. Turnipseed is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History and Philosophy at Jackson State University, located in the College of Liberal Arts. She holds a PhD in Public History from Middle Tennessee State University and has extensive credentials in education, telecommunications, and media.

Research & Interests: Dr. Turnipseed specializes in public history, cultural preservation, and community engagement. Her work emphasizes marginalized narratives, such as the Gullah Geechee cultural heritage and African American historical documentation. She integrates technology and education to promote inclusive historical practices.
