Barry J. Babin is the Phil B. Hardin Professor of Marketing and Chair of the Department of Marketing, Analytics, and Professional Sales at the University of Mississippi's School of Business Administration. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Louisiana State University (1991), an MBA from the University of Central Florida (1987), and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from LSU (1982).
His research focuses on wine marketing, customer experience design, value creation, implicit processing, and sales management technologies. He has authored over 200 publications with an h-index of 88, including influential works in journals like Journal of Marketing and International Journal of Wine Business Research. Notably, his 2023 meta-analysis on service provider touch and 2021 study on brand placements highlight his expertise in synthesizing empirical research.
