Barry Friedman is a Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management at the School of Business, State University of New York at Oswego. He holds a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University and has 25 years of industry experience with ExxonMobil, Xerox, and Harris Interactive. His research focuses on organizational behavior, motivation, employee satisfaction, and corporate social responsibility. He teaches courses in HRM and organizational behavior, including global perspectives and ESG topics. Dr. Friedman has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and presented at conferences globally, with recent work addressing AI engagement, workplace wellness, and social media's role in political movements. He serves on the editorial board of the Business Research Consortium and founded the Human Resource Center for Excellence. His awards include the Fulbright Scholarship, President's Award for Teaching Excellence, and President's Award for Scholarly Achievement. He co-authored grants like the Discover Wellness program funded by the Shineman Endowed Fund (2022-2023).
Research trends highlight his focus on employee motivation, CSR authenticity, and the intersection of technology (AI/social media) with organizational behavior.
